Mickey Mouse Love

Marco has so much love for Mickey!! He has been in this love for some time and I finally got some pictures of their love :) He needs to share everything with Mickey; food, toys, etc... If Marco colors something or does something with his toys or sees something outside he needs to grab Mickey and show him and says "Go see Mickey" The other black and white pictures are just me playing around with the camera and you can really see his beautiful big eyes and eyelashes!!

Elizabeth said...: What would his reaction be if you took him to Disney World? ;-) Rachel (my oldest) loved Mickey like that - I will never forget her opening the box he came in, the smile on her face and the squeel and shouts she came out with!

Our Family

Mauricio and I met in the Spring of 2002 through mutual friends. We went out on a blind date and the rest is history. We were married in May 2005, bought a house that summer, and in the summer of 2006 learned we were adding a little one to our lives. On November 3rd we learned we were having a little boy and we also learned that he would be born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. Our next 4 months of pregnancy were filled with uncertainty, fear, love, and faith in our little boy, ourselves, and God. It was also filled with many specialists and exams. Through ultrasounds, MRIs, and scans it was determined that Marco had 40% lung volume and his bowels, spleen, and stomach were in his chest cavity pushing his heart to the right and comprimising the growth of his left lung. Although Marco's condition was considered moderate, he was given a 50% chance of survival. Marco Luis was born at 35 1/2 weeks at 1:38pm. He weighed in at 5lbs. 2oz and 18.7inches!! He had his first surgery at 3 days of age to repair the hernia and another surgery at the end of April to remove an abdominal patch. He stayed at Children's Hospital for 65days and up until this day continues to amaze us with his strength!!! He is a true fighter and a true meaning that miracles are possible as he fought against CDH and prematurity!! We are so proud of our little one! He has made our family complete and a true blessing!
