Just a quick update...
Marco had his Early Intervention re-evaluation this past Friday and he no longer qualifies for services! Yea Marco!!!
We initially came in when we first came home and 2 1/2 months under clinical judgement because of his history and then we he was re-evaluated he qualified due to some gross motor delays. Well in our 18 months with Early Intervention we saw 3 great therapists, Tamara, developmental specialist, Lorraine, Occupational Therapist, and Elysa, Physical Therapist. It will be sad to say good bye to all three (we will have a final visit with all three after Thanksgiving) but Marco has done so well in such a short period of time that I think we were all preparing ourselves :)
He was evaluated as a 20 month old and here are his numbers
Fine motor skills: 18 months, we need to keep working on those strength especially hand and upper body.
Gross Motor skills: 18 months, work on again the strength, climbing, stairs independently (he will walk not crawl up stairs with help)
Cognitive Skills: 21 months
Expressive Language: 22 months
Receptive Language: 21 months
Social/Emotional: 26 months
Self-care: 19 months (this is eating, toileting, and dressing skills). We need to work on consistently and better eating with the spoon but again that is hand strength!
We are so proud of all Marco has accomplished in such a short amount of time and we know things will only improve from now on!!! He is doing great with eating and loves anything we give him so we hope the weight will follow!! :)
We had a nice weekend with Gramma Leyda visiting and Marco enjoyed every minute of all the attention!
Will leave you with some pictures of our Sunday playtime!! Sorry I am having trouble uploading all the pictures so will leave you you these... Marco woke up!
