We had a great weekend. Saturday we went to the Providence RI Zoo and it was great. Marco loved all the animals and there were so many animals and actually in comparison to the Boston Zoo it is so much better. Then on Sunday we hit the beach. We had a great lunch in this great place overlooking the ocean and then we spent 25 minutes on the beach to only run from all the dark clouds. Weather in New England is so unpredictable :) Hopefully we will go back soon before the summer is done because Marco loved playing in the sand. We had our CDH clinic follow-up yesterday. Overall all is good. Developmental Pediatrician was happy with his development and progress. He is communicating very well with words (close to 10 words) and signs (he uses 10 or more signs appropriately), he is also understanding everything we say and two-step commands. He is walking more and more and is more confident. He loves to throw his ball while walking and then go chasing for it :) The nutritionist was happy with his eating and weight gain (gained 2 lbs. in 2 months!!) The pulmonologist was also happy with his lungs as he sounds great!! The surgeon who doesn't follow Marco was a bit harsh saying that according to the charts he is "malnourished" and "failure to thrive" It was upsetting to hear that as we really don't feel that is the case. Marco is developing age appropriately and there are no concerns with him developmentally so just because a piece of paper on a chart he is not where they want him to be or "should" be, he is doing well, eating and gaining and developing, that is what is important to us!!
